The Nearly Mrs. Peters Open
See below for all the details related to the golf tournament. This event is geared towards fun and some friendly competition. Winners will be announced at the cookout later that evening.
Capacity: We’re expecting a full tournament. Thus, people riding along just to watch is likely not viable due to a limited number of carts available. We encourage those who don’t want to play to hit the pool or explore town instead! Additionally, we are having a very fun glow golf closest-to-the-pin challenge after the cookout and any and all are welcome to attend.
Timing: Plan to arrive before noon if you want to warm up. We will likely shoot the cannon no later than 12:30pm to signal the start of the tournament. The 9 holes will likely take 2.5 hours maximum so those who are looking to play more holes are certainly welcome to do so.
Equipment: We need to plan ahead for those who need rental clubs since there is not a large supply at OBC. Please let us know if you need clubs and we’ll arrange it. Tees, markers, gloves, balls all can be purchased in the pro shop for those who need them.
Attire: Please look sharp. Traditional golf clothes are appropriate.
Food: We will have hot dogs grilling by the first tee for those looking for a snack on the course! Otherwise, you can seek out lunch after the round.
Beverages: Jason and Murph will be driving the beverage cart during this event with beer, seltzers, and water. For those looking for something stronger you can order a cocktail to go from the OBC bar.
Payment: This tourney is on us! Come. Play. Have a blast. You are also welcome to play an additional 9 holes after the tournament free of charge. Any other golf rounds prior or after this event are considered normal activities that you are in charge of sponsoring.
Prizes: We will have prizes for low gross, closest to the pin, and longest drive.
Teams: If you have a group in mind please email the Groom with your players. Otherwise, we will build the teams the week before the event so that friends and family are with familiar places.
Skill Level: All are welcome; however, ideally you’ve played golf before. If this is your first time playing, it might be better to enjoy the range during the event instead and come to the glow golf challenge later after the cookout.
Change of Plans: If you have changed your mind from what you indicated on your RSVP card please let us know as soon as possible so we can restructure the team you are on.
