Travel
Our celebration will be on the Grainger property a few miles from Saratoga, Wyoming. Nestled between the Rockies to the East and the Sierras to the West, Saratoga has the North Platte River running through town. The bride grew up here and Jason has grown to love it equally as much. Please see recommendations below for air and car logistics, as well as a wedding map to get your bearings. Once you arrive in town, weekend events will be easily accessible.
Flying
Denver International Airport
Denver is the closest major airport to fly into. The drive to Saratoga is three hours and thirty minutes. The drive is beautiful. This is the simplest way to get to our event.
Laramie Regional Airport
Laramie is a one and a half hour drive to Saratoga. You can connect into here from Denver; however, driving from Denver can be more reliable. Make sure to confirm you can get a rental car here prior to booking this option.
Shively Field Private Airport
For those traveling privately, Saratoga has an airfield to fly into that is reliable. This airport has frequent private travel from various surrounding ranches and residents.
Driving
We highly encourage guests traveling from Denver to drive north on I-25, take Highway 287 from Fort Collins to Laramie, then drive over the Snowy Range Scenic Byway (Highway 130) to Saratoga. The drive in total is three and a half hours, with lots of places to stop along the way to explore and take photos. Medicine Bow Peak is a gem of southern Wyoming.
Things to Do
Saratoga has many authentic places to eat and drink as well as every sort of outdoor activity available outside of town. We encourage you to make the most of your travels. Here is a small sampling of the things you can do in the area beyond those included on our weekend itinerary.
Eat
Most your meals will be with us but for the odd hours we recommend the following:
Lollipops Cafe - coffee, breakfast, lunch, ice cream
Saratoga Sandwich Co - breakfast, lunch.
Grumpy Italian - pizza, sandwiches, delicious.
Hotel Wolf - best beef in town besides OBC
Firewater - excellent gastropub food
Those staying at the Old Baldy Club we encourage to eat onsite since meals are included in your fare. The food is amazing!
Drink
Most of your drinks will be with us but town has no shortage of watering holes. The best and the brightest are:
Hotel Wolf - a true staple. Saloon doors. Taxidermy. Our favorite.
Firewater - Microbrews and an outdoor deck by the river. Where our Welcome Party is!
Snowy Mountain Brewery - Local microbrews & Biergarten
Whistle Pig Saloon - The name says it all.
The Rustic - The truly committed head here.
Explore
Fish - The North Platte River runs straight through town with some of the best fishing in the state. Set up a guided trip through the Old Baldy Club or head to public land yourself. Please note this year is supposed to be a record-low water year.
Hike - The Medicine Bow National Forest south of town is an amazing place to hike, mountain bike, take pictures, and fish in high mountain lakes. North of town there is an Overland Trail crossing where you can still see the ruts of the wagons.
Soak - Saratoga has natural hot springs! Head to the Saratoga Hot Springs Resort to take a dip in one of their tee-pees or the large pool. Otherwise there is a public hot spring also in town.
